Flower Book Tag

For day #2 of Summer week I’m doing the Flower Book Tag. I decided to do this tag because flowers remind me of Summer. Enjoy!

Daffodil- a book about unrequited love

P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han. While this book isn’t focused around unrequited love it does have an element of it. There is definitely a relationship where someone wants to be more than friends and the other person wants to remain friends. I think that most books have relationships involving insta-love. Another common situation is a love triangle made up of a girl, her best male friend, and a boy she’s met recently. P.S. I Still Love You may fall into the love triangle category but I think it’s written in an enjoyable (and not cheesy) way.

Summer Madness Book Tag

Since it’s a few weeks into Summer I’ll be posting Summer related posts all week. Enjoy!

A book with a summery cover

my life next door

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. This is definitely the most summery book cover I have. Everything from the colors, to the outfits, to the setting screams Summer.

Rainbow Book Tag

This tag was originally created by Lebookchronicles.
The Rules:
– Choose your favourite book from each colour.
– If you do not own a book of a certain colour, just choose one that has the colour on it somewhere.
– It has to be a book you own and/or has to be the exact edition you read.

I’m only going to be doing one book from each author or else this would just be Vampire Academy and Percy Jackson. Enjoy!

RED

vampire-academy

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. Book #1 in the Vampire Academy series.

Reader Problems Book Tag

Happy Fantastic Friday (or whatever day you’re reading this on)!!!!   -Emily

You have 20 000 books on your tbr. How do you decide what to read next?

When choosing which book to read next I usually just go with whatever I’m feeling. I often find myself more inclined to read books that I’ve recently acquired. Recently I’ve been more inclined to contemporaries since I’ve read a lot of fantasy recently.

You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?

I’ve never given up on reading a book but I do read multiple books at a time. One of my least favorite books of all time Wicked by Gregory Maguire took me over two and a half years to complete. If I don’t like a book it become less of a priority but I will still try to finish it.

The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?

I HATE reading challenges. As soon as I start to put pressure on myself to read it becomes a chore. If I feel like I’m forcing myself to read or if I’m paying too much attention to how much I’m reading it isn’t fun anymore. I never want to put myself in a situation where I’m not enjoying reading. I avoiding reading challenges all together to create a more pleasant reading experience for myself.

The covers of a series you love DO. NOT. MATCH. How do you cope?

Um……I don’t. Books look better with matching covers. It’s. A. Fact. Or at least my very strong opinion. I love how organized it looks when book covers and spines match. One of my biggest pet peeves is when a series has really nice covers but they are changed to a much uglier cover. I don’t understand why that happens and I hate it. I do not cope with book covers that don’t match.

Everyone and their mother loves a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?

One of my friends also reads a lot. While she and I both read a lot we don’t read many of the same books. Even though we don’t read the same books we still talk about things we did and did not enjoy in the books we read.

You’re reading a book and you’re about to start crying in public. How do you deal?

hahahah I don’t leave my house. In all seriousness I don’t cry while reading books. The only book that has really made me cry was Marley and Me. However if I were about to start crying in public I would go to the bathroom.

A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book?

No. I have enough books on my tbr without adding re-reading to the list. I can usually piece together what happened in the first book while reading the second book.

You do not want anyone, ANYONE, borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people no when they ask?

I don’t really have this problem. There’re only three people who I let borrow my books, but no one else really asks. The people who I lend my books to understand how much my books mean to be and are very careful with them. I’m very close with the people I lend my books to. If you don’t know me well don’t ask to borrow my books.

You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?

I don’t force myself to read. If I’m going through a reading slump I usually take a break from reading and watch a lot of YouTube/Netflix. Forcing myself to read always ends in me disliking a book I may have liked under other circumstances.

There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read. How many do you actually buy?

One or two. I always buy the one or two books I’m most interested in. If I still want the other books after a few months I’ll probably buy them at a later date.

After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your self before you get to them?

If I don’t read the books within a month of getting them they’ll stay on my shelf for anywhere from a month-years.

These questions were all created by the creator of the tag.

Shawn Mendes Book Tag

For anyone who didn’t know I love Shawn Mendes (maybe a little too much). When I found this tag I couldn’t wait to do it. Enjoy!

STITCHES: a book that made you really sad and left you in pieces.

marleyandme

Marley and Me by John Grogan. Marley and Me is the only book that has ever made me sob. Marley was one of the sweetest (and craziest dogs ever). Even though I knew what would happen in the end I couldn’t prepare myself. To add on to my pain, I have a dog that is very similar to Marley. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t cried because of Marley and Me. Even though I loved the book, Marley and Me did leave me in pieces.

Top 5 Favorite Series

This list only includes finished series and series I have read all of the books in.

Harry Potter is not on this list because I think it should be common knowledge I love Harry Potter.

(#4 & 5 are interchangeable) -Enjoy

5. The Secret Diamond Sisters by Michelle Madow

the secret diamond sisters

The Secret Diamond Sisters is by far my favorite contemporary series. The Secret Diamond Sisters is about three sisters; Peyton Diamond, Courtney Diamond, and Savannah Diamond. When their mother is put into rehab for her drug addiction they (Peyton, Courtney, and Savannah) move in with their rich father who they’ve never meet. These books are funny and cute while covering darker topics, such as drug addiction). There’s so much drama in this series. The books are all addicting. Peyton, Courtney, and Savannah all have very different personalities which results in lots of different drama. The Secret Diamond Sisters is a trilogy.

10 Bookish Facts About Me

Get to know me better.

Since I’m fairly new to blogging I thought I’d make my first post something to help you get to know me. Here is 10 Bookish Facts About Me. Enjoy!

  1. I’m always reading multiple books at once. It’s a really bad habit I’ve tried to get out of but it never works. There are so many books I want to read and I just don’t have the patience to wait until I’m done my other books.

2. The books I’m currently reading are: Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare, The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan, Camp Half-Blood Confidential by Rick Riordan, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (The Original Screenplay), and Note to Self by Connor Franta.

3. I think that Mason Ashford (from Vampire Academy), Connor and Travis Stoll (from Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Blood of Olympus, and The Trials of Apollo), and Zeke Pedrad (from Divergent Continue reading “10 Bookish Facts About Me”
